It's strangely common for clients to notice a problem and decide new training is necessary. To see the problem is a good first step, but before training is automatically assumed to be the solution, it's better to first assess the business problem.
There are a large number of potential causes for the problem, such as low employee motivation, issues with the environment, lack of knowledge or inability to implement skills already learnt.
By conducting a thorough analysis of where the performance problem lies, what people are not doing and why, it leaves the designer in a better position to solve the problem.
The solution will then be far more effective, and achieve a measurable impact on the success of the business.
